Wrestling: Quick pins help Elks beat Armstrong 52-25

Five pins, all in the first period, helped Elk River defeat Robbinsdale Armstrong 52-25 at home Friday evening for their first win.

Cole Moening,  Evan Caldon, Ryan Osberg, Jacob Brown and Alex Schmitz had the pins, with Schmitz the quickest, 27 seconds.

The Elks (1-1) also had a 17-7 major decision by Kyle Ziemer and three forfeits.

Next is a conference dual at Coon Rapids on Thursday.
