The Zimmerman Thunder cruised to a 73-29 win over Fridley on Friday night, a big turnaround from the result a year ago.
“Last year, we lost to them by about 35,” said Thunder coach Lance Dalbey, adding that Fridley graduated heavily. “This was a good game for us, a confidence-builder.”
Zimmerman (2-2) had finely-balanced scoring with Heather McCormick scoring 13, Brooke Borchardt 13, Lexi Funaro 10, Kaitlin Mason 9, Amber Magnuson 8, and Jamie Schuster 8.
The Thunder made 18 of 24 free shots, also spread around as Magnuson had the most, 4-for-4. They made five 3-pointers, three of them by McCormick.
After playing four games in eight days to start the season, the Thunder have 10 days off before starting conference on Dec. 11 at Becker.
