Local BP stations donate to charity

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Minnesota has received a $20,000 check, thanks to Fueling Communities Day at local BP stations.

On Oct. 25, 34 local BP stations — including Elk River BP and Rogers BP— participated in Fueling Communities Day. For every gallon of gasoline sold on that day, BP donated 15 cents to cystic fibrosis. The total amount donated came to $20,000, which was presented to Cystic Fibrosis of Minnesota.

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of children and adults. Due to great advances in research, many people afflicted with this disease can now expect to live into their 30s and beyond.
