The Otsego City Council decided Nov. 26 to establish a subcommittee to help determine a clear vision for the usage of the Prairie Center and create rules and regulations governing those uses. In addition to two staff members and two council members, the council is looking to add three Otsego residents who can provide insight into the diverse interests that residents may wish to see reflected in the facility’s usage or who may have expertise that could be useful when discussing potential building improvements.

“I think this is something that everyone wants to have happen soon so we can begin utilizing the space,” City Administrator Lori Johnson said.

Council Member Doug Schroeder agreed, pointing out that the city has already received a number of requests from local groups wanting to use the Prairie Center.

Residents interested in joining the Prairie Center Reuse Subcommittee should contact City Clerk Tami Loff or Parks and Recreation Manager Ross Demant no later than Dec. 12. Both can be reached by contacting the city of Otsego at 763-441-4414.
