Sports: Rogers girls thump North St. Paul 65-39 in coach’s debut

Torrid shooting helped the Rogers Royals breeze 65-39 over North St. Paul in their opener at home Tuesday evening, giving new coach Karlee Anderson a successful debut.

The Royals shot 9-for-16 from 3-point range, and 18-for-23 on free shots, while making 12 steals.

Courtney McClay was top scorer with 17 and Taylor Anderson added 12. Lindsay Dorr notched 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.

The Royals will play at Chaska on Thursday.
