I wish to thank the citizens of Ward 3 for voting for Barb Burandt. As I said before, she is the most qualified person that has ever run for council. Every council needs at least one woman on it as women view things differently, and we truly need that aspect. She is an amazing woman. I wish I could manage my time as she does!
Are you folks aware of how many CEO’s are women? Just lately there have been four appointed to that position. In Saturday’s Wall Street Journal I read about Denise Morrison, the first woman CEO of Campbell Soup. She is the one responsible for the turnabout of Campbell Soup. I don’t know if you have noticed the new soups that have been introduced, but I have. All of you must remember that it was a woman who safely led the Chilean miners out of the mines. I just want to point out to those of you who think that only men are leaders that there is a need for the input of women.
This Thanksgiving I have much to be thankful for. For one thing our local business owners; they are the ones that make our town great! They are the ones that support our local events. I am thankful for you folks for being concerned about our local community. Please be in contact with your council person and if you have a real concern, contact the other council members also.
Thank you, voters for exercising your right to vote. It expedited the time at the polls when you displayed your photo ID. It is important to have one because more and more places require them. The world is changing and we are losing the personal touch and just becoming a number.
I am thankful for living in Sherburne County, where the (election) judges receive excellent training. The judges are truly dedicated and concerned that you understand the ballot.
Thanks goes to all of you for being concerned about our city, state and nation!—Lola Driessen, Elk River
