Hockey: Blaine clips Elk girls 4-2

The Blaine Bengals stymied Elk River-Zimmerman 4-2 on Tuesday evening, holding the Elks to a 1-for-10 slate on power plays, at Elk River Arena.
Kaylee Forster hit the power play goal and Ali Gallus had the other goal for the Elks (0-3-1). Abby Canton and Haley Williams made assists. Kim Scott stopped 34 of 38 shots.
Kiersten Falck delivered both a power play and shorthanded goal in the first period for Blaine (3-2). Sam Swansrom and Amy Schlagel had the other goals. The Bengals were 1-for-5 on the power play.
The Elks will host Champlin Park next Tuesday.
