Winter parking ordinance to go into effect Thursday, Nov. 15

Elk River’s winter parking ordinance goes into effect Nov. 15 for the entire City of Elk River.

Parking is not allowed on any city street between Nov. 15 and April 15 between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

The purpose of the parking ordinance is to provide efficient and safe snow removal throughout the city.

Violation of this ordinance will result in a fine.

The public’s cooperation in keeping the streets clear of vehicles is appreciated, said Brad Rolfe, Elk River’s Chief of Police.

If a special circumstance necessitates a vehicle being left on the street overnight, please contact the police department at 763.635.1200 before doing so, Rolfe advised.
