School Board election too close to call; it appears levy renewal will pass but not second question
It appears that with 24 of 33 precincts reporting, the Elk River Area School District’s operating levy renewal will pass but the a second levy will fail at the polls in the yesterday’s vote.
The first question garnered 58 percent of the vote (15,177 votes) with 24 of the precincts in compared to 42 percent or 11,056 votes.
The second question, however, only garnered 41 percent of the vote with 10,647 votes after 24 of the precincts reported.
As of 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning it was also too early to declare all three winners in the race for open seats on the Elk River Area School Board.
Holly Thompson and Sue Farber were in th elead each with nearly 20 percent of the votes.
The next two highest vote getters with 24 of the 33 precincts in were Dan Hunt with 17 percent of the vote and Tom McAuley with 15 percent of the vote.
Janelle Henry had 14 percent of the vote, and Jane Frazier had 13 percent of the vote with nine more precincts to be counted.
