Elk River cross country enjoyed the experience of having both teams running at the state meet  Saturday although both squads were back in the pack.

The Elk boys placed 14th and the girls 16th, each in a 16-team field, at St. Olaf College in Northfield. This marked the first time the Elks had both teams at state.
