No trick; businesses to treat

Downtown Elk River will turn into a Ghost Town Friday, Oct. 26. At least it will be a place for costumed trick or treaters from  11 a.m. to 6 p.m. downtown Friday.

Rivers Edge Commons Park downtown will be decorated for Halloween photos and there will be activities in the park. Participating businesses will have “welcome trick or  treaters” signs in their windows.

There will also be a pumpkin roll that will start at 5 p.m. on that day. Participants will have the opportunity to donate $5 to roll a pumpkin at a target (down the alley next to Sunshine Depot) and be eligible to win over $250 worth of gift certificates and prizes donated by downtown businesses. The money raised will go towards a tree-lighting ceremony downtown during the holidays.

School of Business has Halloween event

The Minnesota School of Business’ first Trunk or Treat event will run from 5–7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the school, located next to Coborn’s and behind SuperAmerica.  Local businesses will hand out candy. Hot cider and treats will be available inside a haunted house. For more information, email or call 763-367-7013.
