Elk River was awarded the No. 2 seed in Section 7AAA volleyball and will have a home game in the second round Friday, Oct. 27.
The Elks (16-11) will host the winner of No. 7 Duluth East (12-7) vs. No. 10 Chisago Lakes (14-12), who’ll play Wednesday. If the Elks win, they’ll have another home game.
Anoka (20-7) is the top seed, followed by the Elks, St. Francis (19-8), and North Branch (19-7), all of whom get first round byes.
Defending champion Andover (12-15), which beat the Elks, was seeded fifth and will host No. 12 Princeton, with the winner facing North Branch.
No. 6 Forest Lake (11-11) will host No. 11 Duluth Denfeld (16-8) with the winner facing St. Francis.
No. 8 Cambridge-Isanti (14-12) will host No. 9 Grand Rapids (16-10), with the winner facing Anoka.
If the Elks win Friday, they will play in the semifinals, also at high seed, against St. Francis, Forest Lake or Denfeld. Finals will be held Nov. 3 at Duluth Denfeld.
