Volleyball: Royals lose conference final to Bluejackets 3-2

The Rogers Royals lost their conference finale to Cambridge-Isanti 3-2 Tuesday evening in Cambridge, their fifth straight setback.

The Bluejackets prevailed 22-25, 25-18, 25-22, 19-25, 17-15.

Rogers finished 3-7 in the conference and will take a 11-16 mark into playoffs.

Erika Full made 13 kills and Lizzy Meyer 8 for the Royals. Kaylee Wadhoff served 23-for-25 with three aces, Abby Folk 18-for-18 with two aces, and Maleia Ytseboe 17-for-18 with two aces. Abby Folk made 22 digs and Waldhoff 14. Meyer made nine blocks (seven solo) and Lindsey Dorr eight blocks (seven solo).

Rogers was seeded ninth among 12 teams in Section 5AAA and will play at No. 8 Mounds View on Tuesday, 7 p.m. The winner plays at No. 1 Blaine on Thursday.
