Mick Stoffers Day will be Oct. 31 in Elk River

Oct. 31 has been proclaimed Mick Stoffers Day in Elk River by the City Council.

Mayor John Dietz gave retiring librarian Mick Stoffers a plaque at the Oct. 15 Elk River City Council meeting. Kathleen Tracy, vice chair of the Elk River Library Board, is on the left. Also there was Brandi Canter, regional supervisor for the Great River Regional Library.

That’s the day Stoffers is retiring from the Elk River Library, where she has worked for 27 years. She is the library’s branch manager.

Stoffers was recognized at the Oct. 15 Elk River City Council meeting.

“We’re definitely going to miss her. She has been the face of the Elk River Library,” Mayor John Dietz said. “… It’s kind of a sad day.”

He said Stoffers has done a great job and they are indebted to her.
