Police look for suspect in interrupted burglary

A 37-year-old Elk River man arrived home in the 19600 block of Ulyssess St. on Friday, Oct. 12 to find a strange man coming out of his home. The complainant confronted the man, who got into his vehicle and left the property, striking the owner’s fence in the process.

The homeowner then realized that his house had been broken into and a number of items had been stolen, including jewelry, tools and money.

The suspect is described as a white male, mid 30’s, 5’-8” to 5’-9”, 200 pounds with a blond/brunette “scruffy” beard. Male was wearing a blue flannel jacket, stocking cap and blue jeans. He fled in an older royal blue four door GMC, (possibly Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera) north on Ulysses St.

It’s possible that there’s damage to the front bumper area from striking the fence.
