Eleven different Elks were able to pick up at least one win each as Elk River-Rogers-Zimmerman won a meet at Park Center on Thursday evening.
Against an opponent that’s not very strong in swimming, the Elks shifted the lineup around to give their second- and third-line girls a chance to win some events.
The Elks won every event. They were 1-2-3 in all the swimming races, and 1-3-4 in diving.
“I like to see the girls swim different events once in a while,” said coach Colleen Killpatrick. “We spread out the relays to let our teams swim against each other.”
Taylor Odegard won the IM and backstroke. Courtney Grunewald took the 100 freestyle and breaststroke. Jessica Young won the 50 free and butterfly. Ali Schwab won the 500.
Samantha Hendricks won the 200 freestyle. Jennifer Hunt took diving (135.05).
In relays, Young, Ali O’Mara, Shannon White, and Odegard won the medley; Hendricks, Marissa Kranitz, Maggie Schuster and Hannah Johnson won the 200 free; and Alaina Sylvester, Odegard, Kayla Kranitz and Schwab won the 400 free.
The Elks (4-2) will compete in the Cambridge-Isanti Invitational on Saturday.
