Downtown Elk River has a number of events coming up.
An Art Crawl, held in association with the Elk River Area Arts Alliance, will be Thursday, Oct. 25. Fred McCoy of McCoy’s Pub, representing the Downtown River’s Edge Business Association, said this is the fourth annual Art Crawl. The event draws a good crowd and the artists like it, he told the Elk River Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) on Oct. 1.
On Friday, Oct. 26, there will be trick or treating in downtown.
In November, the downtown association hopes to put a large tree in River’s Edge Commons Park, decorate it and have a tree-lighting ceremony.
Santa will be at the park in late December. The exact date has not yet been nailed down.
In a related downtown matter, McCoy thanked the HRA for the new parking lot and said it turned out very well. The farmers market that moved from Westbound Liquor to the new downtown parking lot brought some people in and was well accepted, he added.
Jennifer Wagner of Open Reel Media, who has an office downtown in the Houlton building, said the downtown group has a Facebook page (Elk River Downtown River’s Edge) and a website (www.erriversedge.com).
