Gladys Olmsted named Volunteer of the Month

Gladys Olmsted has been named the city of Elk River’s Volunteer of the Month for September.

Mayor John Dietz congratulated Gladys Olmsted, who is the city of Elk River’s Volunteer of the Month for September.

She was honored at the Monday, Sept. 17 City Council meeting.

Olmsted has volunteered at the CAER food shelf almost from the time it opened 33 years ago. She picks up food for CAER at the food banks, packs grocery orders, sorts clothing and does other work. Before CAER got its food delivered by the food bank, for years Olmsted went and picked it all up.

Olmsted also has been an election judge, volunteered for 4-H and at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
