The Zimmerman Thunder won their sixth straight match, serving 15 aces in a 25-13, 25-15, 25-16 win over the Milaca Wolves on Thursday evening in Milaca.

“We were able to take Milaca out of their game by our tough serving,” said coach Rita Belka. “They struggled greatly trying to pass Nikki’s serve, which allowed us to go on long runs.”

Nikki O’Keefe logged 10 aces and Brooke Borchardt added four. The Thunder served 66-for-72 with 15 aces.

“That was our best serving game of the season,” said the coach.

Borchardt knocked down 13 kills, O’Keefe nine, Gabby Antolak three, and Alyssa Bright three. Morgan Feldick led with seven digs, and Amanda Meleen made 26 assists.

Zimmerman is 8-2 overall and Milaca dropped to 5-7.

The Thunder will play in the Big Lake Invitational on Saturday.
