Otsego Elementary School’s fifth-grade students participated in a Youth Frontiers Kindness Retreat Sept. 7. The day-long retreat, sponsored by the Parent Advisory Council, was designed to empower fifth graders to build a more caring school community by engaging students in activities that demonstrate the powerful value of kindness and the painful effects of bullying. Students committed to modeling kindness in their daily actions at Otsego Elementary School, and teachers will facilitate community-building activities that reinforce empathy and conflict-resolution skills throughout the school year.
Eighth-grade W.E.B. leaders from Rogers Middle School assisted Youth Frontiers in the retreat.
