Cross country: Spectrum girls 5th, boys 9th at St. Francis

The Spectrum girls placed fifth among 11 teams at the St. Francis Invitational on Thursday, while the boys were 13th among 13 teams.

The Sting had junior Kayla Zimmerman in 13th place (16:54), junior Rebecca Peterson 20th (17:17), freshman Marissa Kulk 26th (17:45), junior Emily Nelson 33rd (17:55), and senior Anna Neilsen 36th (18:07).

The Sting boys were led by junior Chad Schwinghammer in 52nd place (18:57).

The Forest Lake boys and Elk River girls were the first-place teams.

The Sting will run at Big Lake on Tuesday.
