Elk River battled to a 1-1 tie with St. Michael-Albertville on Saturday, outshooting the Knights by a 15-4 margin but able to get only one in the net.

Emily Lewis scored the goal in the 50th minute with an assist from Logan Daulton.
Brandy Schirmers scored for STMA (3-1-2) midway through the first half.

Elk coach Brian Steuter said it was a well-played match by both teams.

The Elks best chance to score otherwise was a breakaway by Daulton, who had a hard ground shot stopped by the goalie and a rebound shot blocked by a defender.

The Elks are 3-3-1 overall and 2-0-1 against section teams.

They will play at Blaine on Tuesday evening.
