Tennis: Elks pick up another conference win 6-1 at Coon Rapids
The Elk River tennis team rolled past Coon Rapids 6-1 there Friday in a match that started Thursday and was interrupted by rain. The Elks are 5-0 in the NWSC and 5-1 overall.
Michaela Schulz at No. 1 singles won 6-2, 6-1, staying unbeaten for the year (6-0) with 172 career wins.
Jennifer Koehler Alyssa Karavitch and Annika Teske all won 6-0, 6-0, at 2-3-4 singles.
Hadley Purdy and Becca O’Connell won 5-7, 6-2, 10-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Kathi Opsahl/Lauren Brayden won 0-6, 6-2, 10-5 at No. 2 doubles. The lone loss was at No. 3 where Rebecca Lieser and Erin Reiner lost a close one 7-6 (8-6), 5-7, 8-10.
The Elks will play at the Duluth East Invitational on Saturday.
