Soccer: Rogers girls get into scoring, win columns, 4-0 over Bluejackets

The Rogers Royals, after going scoreless for four games, broke out with four goals on Thursday evening and beat Cambridge-Isanti 4-0 in Cambridge.

Scoring were Lindsay Paul (Sydni Grover assisting) in the fifth minute, Grover in the 33rd minute, and Jenna Trochlil (Courtney Stutelberg assisting) in the 58th minute. There was also an own goal from C-I in the 72nd minute.

Coach Holly Sutton also cited goalkeeper Cassidy Stutelberg for the shutout, strong midfield work by Paul, and several opportunities to score created by forward Kirsten Heikkenen.

“We have as many goals for as we do against us now!” said Sutton. “At least we got on the board.”

Rogers’ first three four games were a 0-0 tie, two 1-0 losses and a 2-0 loss.

The Royals will host Maple Grove on Saturday, 1 p.m.
