“I was asked to create a show for the Cottonwood County Historical Society,” said Wipf, about an exhibit slated for Sept. 16 to Nov. 16 at Remick Gallery in Windom. “I wanted to offer an opportunity for the public to see my show in Elk River for one night.”

Her Elk River exhibit will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, from 5 to 9 p.m. in an empty storefront at 654 Main Street.

The show, called “Minnesota Outdoor Views,” will feature more than 40 paintings, most of them plein air (from life) and representing  all seasons.

She painted in the Elk River area this summer and spent a week in January with Grand Marais Arts Colony at a YMCA camp near the Canadian border. Some of her paintings are specific to Windom and Cottonwood County.

Wipf also has been selected for three upcoming national shows: the Southeast Miniature Invitational Show at Germanton (N.C.) Gallery in December and January, the 42nd annual Women Artists of the West juried exhibit  in Fredericksburg, Texas, November-December, and the Scottsdale (Ariz.) Salon of Fine Art Sale and Exhibition in April-May (juried in with over 2,000 entries).
