Spectrum has new coaches in volleyball, girls soccer, boys basketball
Spectrum High School has named coaches for two teams that are going solo this fall, plus a boys basketball coach, announced Rick Peterson, activities director.
Tex Cuabo will coach the volleyball team, which previously was paired with PACT. Cuabo, a mobile tech consultant with AT&T, has coached Junior Olympics volleyball in Rogers for several years.
Nickie Luehrs will coach girls’ soccer, which was previously paired with PACT. Luehrs, who’ll teach language arts in the middle school, played soccer at Hudson (Wis.) High School and Bethel University, and coached Bethel’s junior varsity one year.
Bob Delain will coach boys’ basketball. A chemistry teacher in the St. Paul public school system, DeLain previously coached in a suburb of Wichita, Kan., and had a winning percentage of .790. He played for Emmaus Bible College in Iowa.
Spectrum is also launching a football team this fall. The football coach, announced previously, is Brett Wedlund, Big Lake teacher who coached there from 2006–08.
The other Spectrum fall team is cross country, now in its third year, coached by Peterson.
