Arts Alliance photo exhibit under way; Roger Williams gets Best in Show

This entrant called “Fluid Motion” by Roger Williams won Best in Show.


The Elk River Area Arts Alliance’s third annual Photography Exhibit,  featuring 24 artists, is ongoing from July 25 through Aug. 25.

A reception for the public to meet the photographers will be held Thursday, Aug. 2, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Roger Williams’ entrant, Fluid Motion, was declared Best In Show.

Rachel Cain’s “Tray of Bubbles” got a third-place award.


Also cited were Steve Fowler, first place; Mike Willett, second place; and Rachel Cain, third place.

Honorable mentions went to David Bakken, Tim Bykowski, Kristin M. Anderson, Karen Willett, Nancy Christenson, Judy Syring, Whitney Zielke, Jon Holtz, Danielle Anderson, and Susan Olivanti.

Also exhibiting are Stephanie Daniels, Jay Grammond, Steve Madore, Paul Myers, Chuck Nortwood, Wendy Picton, Joy Reichel, Jean Stauffer,  Lisa Tetzlaff, Tim Traefald.

The exhibit was juried by Rikk Flohr (see below).

Photo class
This year’s exhbit wlll include a photo class by a photographer of national renown, Rikk Flohr, Saturday, Aug. 11, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., with a luncheon afterward and a critique of two of your photos at Rockwoods. The cost is $30.
