Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, Elk River for Delvin Ziemann, 71, of Zimmerman who died Friday, July 20th in Wasilla, Alaska. Relatives and friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Private family interment will be held at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Lake City, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Princeton.
Delvin Ruben Ziemann was born August 3, 1940 in Stewart, MN to Ruben and Esther (Trojan) Ziemann. On December 6, 1980, Delvin married Mary Claire in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He worked for M. A. Mortenson as a carpenter. He proudly served his country in the US Army and was a member of the Kriesel-Jacobson Post 560 American Legion in Zimmerman. Delvin enjoyed fishing, turkey hunting, taking care of the garden and lawn, and loved to teach people how to do things. He faithfully watched Molly B’s Polka on TV. Delvin was a patient and kind person.
Delvin is survived by his wife, Mary of Zimmerman; children, Angela (Jon) Kotnik of Princeton, Darla (Terry) Meurer of Oronoco, Kelly Marnell of Zumbro Falls, Kevin (Penny) Ziemann of Wabasha, Stan Marnell of Red Wing, Pamela Wright of Fredericksburg, TX; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren (eagerly anticipating the birth of his sixth); mother, Esther Ziemann of Hutchinson; siblings, Donna (Kim) Meyer of Glencoe and Dallas (Cathy) Ziemann of Darwin; many nieces, nephews, very good friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ruben Ziemann and an infant sister, Joan.
