Home burglary interrupted along 190th Avenue
Homeowners in the 11000 block of 190th Avenue believe they interrupted a burglary at the home at 3:36 a.m. July 10 after witnessing three young males flee from their attached garage.
A male followed one male suspect after he left the area in a black Ford F-150 truck with a single cab, oversized tires and a loud exhaust system. It was last seen travelling northbound on Twin Lakes Road from 193rd Avenue.
Police searched the area, but did not locate any suspects.
Check card stolen from store counter
A 16-year-old Otsego boy momentarily left his father’s check card on a counter at Beaudry Express, 610 Proctor Ave., and it was stolen. The victim’s father reported the card missing that day, July 10. He told police his son had been filling up an ice drink after setting it down and when he turned back the card was gone.
Otsego females cited for theft at Walmart
Two Otsego females — one 13 years old and the other 18 years old — were cited July 10 for theft at Walmart after allegedly taking items totaling more than $100. They were released to a parent.
Tennis bag stolen from vehicle
A 19-year-old Elk River man reported his tennis bag stolen July 10 from an unlocked vehicle in the 20000 block of Norfolk Street.
Guns reported taken from Elk River home
A 63-year-old Elk River man reported July 10 that a home he uses for storage in the 10000 block of 201st was entered and guns were taken sometime within the past month.
GPS unit stolen in July 10 theft case
A 23-year-old Zimmerman man reported July 10 items, including a GPS unit, a cell phone and a power inverter, were taken from a pair of vehicles in the 20000 block of Auburn Street.
Items stolen from work vehicle
A 47-year-old Elk River man reported July 10 items were stolen from a work vehicle in the 20000 block of Zane Street. Among the missing items were a purse and credit cards.
Power tools among items stolen
A 47-year-old Elk River man reported July 10 a theft from a motor vehicle in the 19000 block of Kennedy Street. Taken was a GPS unit, a Makita power drill set, a Makita power planer, a Milwaukee sawzall, two 50-foot extension cords, one 100-foot extension cord, two 25-foot extension cords and loose change. Total estimated loss has been placed at $940.
Jordan man, 40, arrested for DWI
An Elk River police officer arrested a 40-year-old Jordan man after observing signs of impairment while he was looking for another suspected drunk driver. The officer made contact with the man at the BP gas station in Elk River.
Woman reports her husband assaulted her
A 38-year-old Elk River woman reported July 9 that she was assaulted by her husband in the 18000 block of Lincoln Circle. The husband later turned himself in to police. He is alleged to have assaulted his wife by strangulation.
Spring Lake Park man cited for possession
An 18-year-old Spring Lake Park man was cited July 11 for open bottle and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop in the area of the 900 block of School Street.
Homeowner says renter left big mess
A 47-year-old Phoenix, Ariz. man reported July 12 that renters had left a home he owned in the 22000 block of Quinn Street in Elk River. When they left they damaged the home and stole various items.
Person passed out with needle eludes
A manager of a local business in 19000 block of Industrial Boulevard reported that an employee was passed out with a needle in the person’s arm. The call came in at 2:21 a.m. July 13. The suspect was gone by the time police arrived.
Woman reports son’s bike stolen
A 50-year-old Elk River woman reported July 12 that someone stole her son’s bike sometime between June 18 and July 2 from the underground garage of her apartment building in the 10000 block of 172nd Avenue.
Lit cigarette gets Elk River man cited
A 25-year-old Elk River man was cited July 15 for littering after he was observed throwing a lit cigarette out the window at Elk Lake Road and Proctor Avenue. The person told police he did it because his friend’s car didn’t have an ashtray.
Items taken from car parked at Babcock
A 34-year-old Monticello man reported July 15 that while his vehicle was parked at Babcock Park, a window was smashed out and items were stolen. Several items were collected at the scene by police for processing.
Elk River man, 54, reports burglary
A 54-year-old Elk River man reported July 15 that someone entered his residence through a back window and stole items from inside. The residence in the 1000 block of Main Street was also ransacked.
Vehicle damaged with automotive-style paint
A 17-year-old Elk River boy reported July 14 that someone wrote on his vehicle while it was parked at the movie theater in the 500 block of Freeport Street. The damage was done with an automotive-style paint commonly used to write on the windshield of vehicles at dealerships.
Vehicle forfeited after 4th Degree DWI
A 18-year-old Elk River man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia July 14 in the 21000 block of Proctor Avenue. The driver was arrested for 4th Degree DWI. The vehicle was being prepared for forfeiture.
Elk River man, 18, cited for possession
An 18-year-old Elk River man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle stop July 13 in the area of Highway 10 and Jackson Avenue. The driver was observed crossing the center line and waiting about 20 seconds to go after a light turned green.
Elk River man, 42, arrested for DWI
A 42-year-old Elk River man was arrested for DWI after being observed not wearing a seat belt July 14 in the area of Main Street and Gates Avenue.
Becker man, 51, rolls vehicle after swerving
A 51-year-old Becker man was injured July 13 when his vehicle rolled over on Twin Lakes Road. Upon police arrival, the driver was out of the vehicle and walking around, with minor lacerations to his head.
The driver reported he was trying to make a phone call while traveling northbound, when an animal crossed the road in front of him and caused him to swerve. The driver admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages. The driver was cited for careless driving.
Stop sign leveled at Twin Lakes and Tyler
A vehicle hit a stop sign at the intersection of Tyler Street and Twin Lakes Road and left the scene July 13.
Graffiti located on back of old dealership
An officer on patrol July 13 located graffiti on the back of the old Saxon Motors building in the 17000 block of Highway 10.
