Reading Frenzy has a Book Festival

Reading Frenzy BookShop’s five-day Book Festival ended June 23 after a strong run.

On opening night, the shop hosted Publisher’s Preview, which provided attendees with information on books published by several publishers.

Thursday evening ended with a chance to meet Minnesota authors over desserts.

Friday and Saturday had writing workshops and writing contests, with 17 children’s entries and nine adults. First-place winners in youth received a free one-on-one coaching session with Minnesota fantasy author C.S. Yelle.  Adult first-place winners received a free one-on-one coaching session with Minnesota author Phil Rustad. The winner in the poetry contest won a coaching session with local author Jane Toleno.

“It was a wonderful event,” Reading Frenzy BookShop owner Sheri Olson said, “and we’re looking forward to doing it again next year.”
