Eunice C. McAlpine, 90, of Elk River, formerly of Dayton and Merrifield, died peacefully surrounded by her family at Ivy’s Meadowvale Place Saturday, June 23, 2012.
Mrs. McAlpine enjoyed camping, traveling, crocheting, and watching the Minnesota Twins. She enjoyed living at the lake home for 25 years. Above all, she loved and cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, June 28 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Dayton. Interment was at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Dare’s Funeral Home of Elk River served the family. Memorials are preferred to Ivy’s Meadowvale Place, 13181 Elgin Dr., Elk River, Minn. 55330; CAER (Elk River) or CROSS (Rogers).
She is survived by her children, Richard (Geri), Kathy Larson, Shirley (Rob) Dreissig, Roger, Carol Bartness, Bruce (Nancy), Sharon (Larry) Weiss, Joany (Mark) Scharber, Clarice (Wayne) Simonson; 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; Mona McAlpine, wife of the late Kenny McAlpine; sisters, Joanne Solinger and Irene Hilliard (Mickey); special family friend, Dick Nelles; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. McAlpine was preceded death by her husband, Clarence; son, Kenny; grandsons, Dan and Pat; and brothers, Gordon and Neil.
