The Draw summer events series is under way, entertaining residents of Ramsey and others Thursday evenings throughout the summer.
The series is presented by the city of Ramsey Foundation and began June 21 with a performance by Big Walter Smith and the Groove Merchants.
Radio control boat races are set for June 28 from 4 p.m. to dusk.
Wind, Waves N Wakes will showcase wind, gas and electric powered boats that can reach speeds in excess of 60 mph. Some of the boats are scaled replicas of real boats. It is also likely that a submarine will be spotted as well.
Music and lawn games will be offered July 5 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
July 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the Roadhouse Blue Band will perform. The group presents a variety of music from classic country to rock. Free samples of Killebrew Root Beer will also be available.
The Bill and Tom Show will take the stage July 19 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. This two-man guitar and piano playing duo plays popular songs from the ‘60s and ‘70s.
Performing July 26 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. is Me and Pop’s, featuring classic American music with vocals and guitar.
The Whatnots, a cover band playing rock, pop, ‘80s and disco, performs Aug. 2 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Taking the stage Aug. 9 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. is 1st Things 1st, a musical revue paying tribute to the great writers and performers of the ‘40s and ‘50s.
Comedian Scott Novotny is the featured performer Aug. 16 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. His act is laced with characters, songs, dancing and jokes.
Todd Anderson presents his tribute to Elvis Aug. 23 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Aug. 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. the Bourbon Street Boys will play Dixieland, mainstream jazz, swing, Latin and vintage rock and roll.
Movie night, featuring a yet-to-be determined family film, is Sept. 6 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The series concludes Sept. 13 with a park patron picnic from 5:30 to 7:30. Shoppers at the farmers market will receive free food from the grill in the amphitheater.
