‘Church of Cash,’ tribute to Johnny, will play tonight
The Church of Cash, a Johnny Cash tribute band, will be the next offering for the free Riverfront Concert Series, at 7 p.m. tonight (Thursday, June 21) in downtown Elk River.
Started in Hololulu in 2009 by Jayder Kalk, the band played dance halls and rodeos there before Kalk moved them back to his home state, Minnesota. Joining Kalk are Jonathon TeBeest, Pete Boulger, Crista Bohlman and Dan Arlig. They play mostly ’50s-era songs.
One website review said: “For all you Cash lovers out there, this is a very special group. Jayder and the Church of Cash brings a youthful vitality.”
