Elk River awarded grant of $250,000

A $250,000 grant has been awarded to the city of Elk River by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.

The Business Development Public Infrastructure grant will help cover some of the costs of infrastructure associated with the development of the Nature’s Edge Business Center.

The new business park will be located near 171st Avenue and Highway 10, not far from the Northstar train station. The city plans to make public improvements and open up three lots for development this year as Phase I of the project.

Estimated cost of Phase I is $1.3 million. Bids are scheduled to be awarded by the City Council on June 18.
