Westgaard files for re-election to Elk River City Council

Two seats are up for election on the Elk River City Council this year.

Elk River Council Member Matt Westgaard has filed for re-election today (Thursday, May 31). He will be running in Ward 2.

The other Elk River City Council seat up for election this year is in Ward 3, which is an open seat. No one has filed for that at this time.

Council Member Jerry Gumphrey is not running for re-election.

Filing for office is the process by which a candidate’s name gets placed on the ballot. Filings close at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 5.
