Elk River has received nearly five inches of rain in recent days, according to Elk River Municipal Utilities (ERMU).
“We’ve had a total over the last two days of 4.75 inches,” ERMU’s Steve Ziemer said Friday morning, May 25. That brings the rain total for the month so far to 10.74 inches, he said.
A flash flood watch was in effect until 1 p.m. Thursday, May 24 in Sherburne, Wright, Hennepin, Mille Lacs, Isanti and Anoka counties, according to the National Weather Service.
As of Thursday afternoon, no storm-related calls had come into the Elk River Police Department, according to Capt. Bob Kluntz.
