The Rogers girls golf team closed the regular-season on a high note, shooting 378 in the Mississippi 8 finale Tuesday at Fox Hollow, their home course.
“We had our best team score in three years today,” noted coach Durand Onell. “This is a great confidence boost for the girls heading into sections next week.”
Royal senior Haley Jung and sophomore Maddie Hol each carved out an 88, a career best for each. Sophomore Rachel Dodd shot 100 and eighth-grader Megan Secrist 102.
Buffalo, wrapping up its seventh consecutive conference crown, won with 334, led by sophomore Lexi Bollant’s sparkling five-under-par 67.
Hol wrapped up an all-conference slot as she placed sixth for the season with a 47 average. The Royals placed sixth among seven teams for the season.
The order of finish was Buffalo, Becker, Monticello, STMA and Cambridge-Isanti tied, Rogers, and Big Lake.
Tying for season medalist were Bollant and Becker senior Kourtney Williams, each with 37 averages.
Rogers will play in Section 5AAA on May 31 at Links at Northfork.
