Baseball: Thunder’s Connelly fires another shutout, 7-0 over Princeton
Kyle Connelly continued his torrid pitching for the Zimmerman Thunder on Thursday, twirling a two-hit shutout against Princeton for a 7-0 victory.
The senior righthander has allowed just one run (unearned) and eight hits in his last 37 innings. In that span he’s had three shutout wins, a 1-0, eight-inning loss, and a four-inning game suspended by rain.
Connelly walked only one, and struck out nine, against Princeton, while going 2-for-4 at the plate.
Cullen Sroka delivered a two-run single and scored two runs, and Corey Jopp had an RBI single, for the Thunder, now 3-7 in conference and 7-10 overall.
Next for Rogers will be a doubleheader Tuesday at home against Milaca, including the conclusion of the game suspended by rain earlier.
