Rogers junior Kayleen Miller shot a hole-in-one, on her first swing of the day, in junior varsity tournament on Thursday at Vintage Golf Course in Otsego.
Starting on the No. 2 hole, she used a seven iron for the 100-yard ace.
“It hit the green, bounced a couple times, then disappeared,” Miller reported, adding that she was so excited “it took me six holes to calm down.”
She finished with 78 for eighth place in the Royal JV Invitational.
Coach Durand Onell noted that Miller’s ace was the first in Rogers girls golf history.
“Kayleen came out for golf for the first time last year as a sophomore and has worked very diligently to improve her game,” said Onell. “The whole team is very excited and proud of her.”
