A three-run home run by Heather McCormick was the highlight as the Zimmerman Thunder beat the Foley Falcons 7-2 at home Tuesday evening.

Ashley Pool pitched the distance for the Thunder (3-13), allowing just three hits and striking out seven.

McCormick’s fifth-inning homer was her first and the team’s third of the year. She was 3-for-4, also hitting a double.

Gabby Antolak had a triple and Ashley Ryding was 2-for-4 with a double

On Saturday the Thunder were 1-1 at an Alexandria tournament, losing to the host team 10-0 and beating Minneapolis Southwest 4-2.

Pool threw a five-inning no-hitter with six strikeouts against Southwest, with that game shortened by rain.

Zimmerman will host Little Falls on Thursday.
