Elk River stood up for Scout program

Thank you Elk River for supporting the Boy Scouts and for turning out for the ninth annual Leadership Breakfast April 262.

Denny Chuba, Chuba Co., shared some very humorous and fun stories about his scouting experiences. He then got very serious when he talked about the values learned by being a Scout: the Scout Promise, the Scout Law, and the emphasis placed on personal responsibility. He said that making the rank of Eagle is a worthy achievement that speaks to the ability and resolve of the individual. He would not hesitate to hire an Eagle Scout because he would know what he was getting.

We thank you for your support and look forward to being part of the Elk River community as a dynamic, constructive service organization focusing on building youth to be our next generation of community leaders. — Jim Acers, scouting volunteer
