Buyer reports a ‘ton of interest’ in commercial space at The Bluffs
by Joni Astrup
Commercial spaces on the main level of The Bluffs of Elk River currently all stand vacant. But Jim Soderberg doesn’t expect it to be that way for long.
“That has been a surprise for us. We’ve had a ton of interest (in the commercial space),” said Soderberg, chief manager of Granite Shores LLC, which has purchased The Bluffs in downtown Elk River.
He wasn’t ready to name names yet, but said some of the businesses that have expressed interest are a jewelry store, a coffee shop, a dry cleaner, a computer-aided design business, a yogurt shop, a granite company and a massage franchise.
“A huge electronics store is interested in maybe putting something there — a smaller version,” Soderberg said. That entity is probably looking at about 2,500 square feet of space, he said.
Some of the businesses have been waiting in the wings. Other leads came through the city and the chamber, he said.
Soderberg said they have hired a commercial listing company, Christianson & Company, for the retail space. The agent is Kris Brandt at 612-770-2889.
