Elk River picked up 2.1 inches of rain in a storm that came through Elk River on Tuesday, May 1.
That’s according to Steve Ziemer of Elk River Municipal Utilities, who tracks precipitation in the city.
Sirens sounded in Elk River around dinnertime Tuesday.
Elk River Police Capt. Bob Kluntz said the only call related to the weather was from a citizen saying that there appeared to be a possible wall cloud near the 17900 block of Lincoln Street in Elk River. Officers checked the area, but couldn’t confirm due to heavy rain, he said.
In Zimmerman, Fire Chief Ryan Maloney said he had not heard any reports of damage in Zimmerman due to the storm.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) office in Zimmerman reported 1.85 inches of rain, he said.
