Police investigate suspicious activity at vacant home

Elk River Police responded to a suspicious activity report shortly before 10 p.m. in the  18000 block of Twin Lakes Parkway on April 28.

They were called an abandoned house after the complainant observed candles burning in some window sills. Upon arrival, officers located a bicycle in the rear of the attached garage and a search of the exterior of the home was completed.

During the search a male was observed peeking outside of a window on the south side of the residence before retreating out of sight. The male ignored verbal commands to show himself,  so a perimeter was established and contact with the property owner was made multiple times without success.

Due to that circumstance, the decision was then made to clear from the scene. Police did not enter the home, so no person was identified, according to Elk River Police Capt. Bob Kluntz.
