Two prodigious streaks continued as Rogers won its 27th straight conference meet and Corey Muenzhuber picked up his fifth straight individual win this year in Mississippi 8 competition at Fox Hollow on Tuesday.
Muenzhuber,, currently top-ranked in the state in Class 3A, matched his career low with 68 on the Royals’ home course, winning by four strokes.
The Royals had three of the top five, with Jordan Rykal and Morgan Rask each shooting 74′ s and tying for fourth. They totaled 292 with Zach Hnath adding a 76. The other two scores were Kyle Korva’s 80 and Andy Suedbeck’s 91.
“The team is starting to come together by shooting the low round of the year, 292, in very unstable and windy conditions,” assessed coach Dan Bursheim.
Team scoring was Rogers 292, Buffalo 307, STMA 317, Cambridge-Isanti 322, Becker 334, Monticello 349, and Big Lake 353.
Muenzhuber’s win streak includes a 72 at Monticello (conference meet), 68 at Brainerd, 71-76 at the Tri-State at Edinburg USA, 69 at Cambridge, and then Fox Hollow.
“Been a busy week for him,” Bursheim said.
Tanner Martin of STMA was second with 72, followed by Buffalo’s Hunter Bruhn with 73.
Next meet is the fourth conference meet of the season, at Becker on Thursday.
