Golf: Elk girls top Anoka, are 7-0 in conference

Elk River girls golf stayed unbeaten in conference with a 179 to 206 win over Centennial on Tuesday at the Cougars home course, Chamonox in Circle Pines.

“We didn’t shoot real good, but that’s a tough course and the first time we have played on it,” said Elks coach Dave Bleyhl.

Sadie Martin shot 37, Ashlee Lindeen 43, Morgan Bleyhl 49, and Alex McDonald 50 for the counting scores, while Samantha Lindeen with 51 and Mary Elmquist with 52 were close behind.

The Elks, 8-0 in conference and seeking their four straight title, will go against Blaine on Wednesday at Majestic Oaks.

“That will be a tough one, because Blaine has three pretty good players,” said the coach.
