Zimmerman won eight of the events and placed third in the Maple Lake Coed Relays on Thursday, an event with a variety of relays including sprint medleys and coed events.
“This meet is the team’s favorite meet of the year,” said Jennelle LeBlanc, Thunder coach, adding that her team has seven of the meet records.
Placing first for the Thunder were:
–Jake Antolak, Alec Seymour, and Ethan Lunning in both the boys’ shot put and discus relay, in which the distances are added up for the total.
–Abby Kratzke, Amber Magnussen, and Jenea Mettling won the girls’ shot put relay.
— Brooke Borchardt, Abby Kratzke, and Jenea Mettling won the girls’ discus relay.
–Cassie Ortberg, Anna Huss and Bailey Bright won the 100 hurdles relay setting a meet record of 51.68.
–Anna Huss, Lexi Olerich, and Megan Seymour won the girls triple jump relay.
–Nikki Jurik, Tyler Lorden, Meghan Tillmann, and Tyler Asmus won the coed 4-by-1600 reay.
–Cassie Ortberg, Anna Huss, and Megan Seymour won the girls’ long jump relay.
Ortberg’s individual splits broke the Irish Country Stadium records in both the 100 hurdles with 16.6 and 300 hurdles with 46.48.
