Golf: Elk boys 2nd behind Crimson in conference opener

The Elk River boys golf team, seeking its seventh straight conference title, placed second behind Maple Grove in the NWSC opener Monday at Golden Valley Country Club.

Elk River’s Alex Kline shot 74 and shared the low score with Maple Grove’s Jackson Lanoue.

The Crimson totaled 322, Elk River 327, and Andover 329 in third place among 10 teams.

Other Elk counting scores were Jordan Peterson’s 82,  Cooper Bleyhl 84, and Jason Peterson 87.

The next NWSC meet will be Thursday at Links at Northfork in Ramsey.
