Track: Elk girls 2nd behind Forest Lake in 12-team St. Francis meet

The Elk River girls were runners-up among 12 teams at the St. Francis Invitational on Saturday.

Forest Lake scored 176 1/8 points with the Elks next at 117 and St. Francis third with 76 1/8.

Elk senior Kelly Edwards won long jump with 16-7 and took third in the triple jump. She also ran on the first-place 4-by-100 relay (with Alana Embury, Dani Detloff and Josie Brown) and second-place 4-by-100 relay.

The Elks’ other firsts were by Jordyn Sohns in 100 hurdles and the 4-by-800 team of Anna Haugen, Gabrielle Jung, Alex McDonald, and Samantha Hendricks.

The Elks have a small meet at Andover on Tuesday.
