S.O.A.R. is new summer theatre opportunity for local kids

An  theatre opportunity for youngsters this summer is available through S.O.A.R. Regional Arts, announced Terrell Beaudry, founder of the new group.

“We want to let kids know about this, because there won’t be any other opportunities in town this summer,” said Beaudry, choir director at ERHS.

S.O.A.R.’s  first production will be “Willie Wonka,” slated for July 27-28-29 and Aug. 3-4-5 at St. Michael-Albertville High School. Auditions will be held May 5-6. Intested persons may register on the groups web site www.soararts.com.

The director will be Dr. Mary Cutler, who earned her Ph.D in theatre from Bowling Green University. Her lengthy resume in theatre can be viewed on the web site.

Based in St. Michael, S.O.A.R. is also open to youth from Elk River, Albertville, Otsego and Rogers, aged seven and up, said Beaudry, adding the group is funded by grants and won’t have participation fees.
